There is no threat of militant attack in Ijtema: RAB Director General

Gazipur Correspondent:    Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) M Khurshid Hossain said that there is no threat of any kind of militant attack in Biswa Ijtema. We are vigilant about this. He said these things while talking to reporters after inspecting the security arrangements of Ijtema on Wednesday (January 31) around 11:00 am.

The Director General of RAB said that sufficient number of RAB members have been deployed to strengthen regular patrolling and increase intelligence surveillance in Ijtema area and neighboring areas. RAB-1 and other five battalions will be responsible for overall security in Ijtema.

A control room has been set up for round-the-clock monitoring of security in the Ijtema area. Besides, monitoring is also being done from the headquarters. And RAB's special team bomb disposal unit and sufficient striking reserve force have been kept ready all the time to deal with any emerging situation.'- he said.

Regarding the security of foreign worshipers in Ijtema, he further said that vigilance and vigilance has been kept to prevent illegal entry of foreign worshipers into the Khita area. Regular search operations are being conducted by setting up checkposts in front of Cheraghali Bus Stand, Tongi-Kaliganj Road, Uttara North Tower and Ashulia Kamarpara area to search Ijtemam-bound vehicles and passengers.
