Jahanara Khalek Foundation next to Bogra Hospital Patient Welfare Association

Bogra Correspondent: Jahanara Khalek Foundation stands by the patient welfare association of the 250-bed Government Mohammad Ali Hospital in Bogra with financial support, which the foundation established in the name of Jahanara, the mother of American expatriate children, has promised to continue.

On Sunday night, the first check of financial support was handed over to Dr. Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) and Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Shafiq Amin Kajol, at the annual discussion meeting of Jahanara Khalek Foundation in the conference room of Bogra city. 

Bogra District Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Shafiul Azam spoke as the chief guest in the meeting and check distribution ceremony. He said that the honorable Prime Minister has brought healthcare to people's doorsteps. Every day thousands of people from far and wide come to the government hospital for treatment. Despite receiving free medical care, many of them cannot afford other incidental expenses of treatment and are assisted by the hospital's patient welfare association. And the way the Jahanara Khalek Foundation, built in the name of his mother as a child in this sector, has come forward with support or they have expressed their desire to provide continuous support is really commendable. But first they have to go through the process of government registration of the foundation. He assured full cooperation on behalf of health department for good work. 

Meanwhile, Ehsan Takbeen, one of the founders of the foundation joined the video conference from far away America and said, "Though I started this service foundation in the name of my mother, all mothers in the world are equal to me." As a child, I want to be with all those mothers from this field built in the name of my mother. And this is possible because of everyone's sincere cooperation. 

Under the chairmanship of foundation president Syed Tariqul Islam and general secretary Syed Zafir Alam, Deputy Director of Social Services Department Bogra district office Abu Saeed Md. Kaushar Rahman and Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Samir Hossain Mishu were the special guests in the meeting. Among others, the vice-president of the patient welfare association of 250-bed Mohammad Ali Hospital, Kamrul Alam Ripu, gynecologist Dr. Sharmin Hossain Mummy, the founders of the foundation, Nazneen Hasan, Nasreen Akand and Nausheen Rahman, etc., were also present. The Foundation, which has started working since the last 2 years, which is in the process of government registration, will provide continuous financial support to the government hospitals, hundreds of poor patients of Trinamool will be benefited through the Patient Welfare Association, which is seen as a good beginning of positive change by those concerned. Dr. Shafiq Amin Kajal, Joint General Secretary of Jahanara Khalek Foundation was in overall management of this annual meeting.
