Manikganj businessman's murder case, 4 life sentenced

Manikganj representative:  Manikganj businessman. In the murder case of Alam Hossain (35), the judge sentenced 4 persons to life imprisonment and 6 months of rigorous imprisonment in default of payment of Tk 20,000 fine. Judge Sabina Yasmin of Manikganj Additional District and Sessions Judge 1st Court passed the verdict at around 3 pm on Monday. 

The convicted accused are, Manikganj Manikganj Singair upazila Jailya village. A. Shahinur Rahman, son of Rashid, Liton, son of Ahmed Dewan of Daserhati area of ​​the same upazila, Ripon, son of Atwar Rahman of the same village and Ujjal, son of Momaj Uddin of South Charigram area. 

Among them, accused Shahinur and Liton were present in the court during the verdict announcement. As Ripon and Ujjwal have been absconding for a long time, the court gave this verdict in their absence. The accused of the same case, Shahidul Islam, recovered the stolen motorcycle and sentenced him to 2 years imprisonment. 

In the summary of the case, Alam Hossain was murdered in Daserhati area of ​​the upazila while going home from his business at around 10 pm on October 2, 2005. Alam Hossain son of deceased Malu Bepari of Charigram area of ​​Singair upazila was a tailor trader in Charigram market.

After the murder, the accused fled with Alam's motorcycle, mobile phone and cash. The next morning after the incident, the locals saw Alam's body near the bridge and informed the house. Dewan Mazharul Haque, the then chairman of Singair Union, filed a case at the police station as a plaintiff in this incident.

After that, Singair Thana police recovered the motorcycle of victim Alam from accused Shahidul Islam from Jhikargacha of Jessore. Based on the information given by him, all the accused in the case were arrested. The accused gave a statement in the court that the murder happened from the plan of stealing the motorcycle of the victim Alam Hossain.

On August 31, 2006, the then SI of Singair police station filed a charge sheet against 5 people. Ayub Khan After the testimony, the judge gave this verdict in the presence of the 3 accused in the case. 2 more people are absconding in the same case. Additional PP Mathur Nath Sarkar was the counsel for the state. Mezbaul Haque Mejba and Khalilur Rahman were the accused.
