International Desk: Five Palestinians, including four Hamas fighters, were killed in an attack by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm. Israeli forces raided the village of Deir al-Ghusun overnight on Saturday (April 4).
The Ministry of Health of Palestine claimed that they even took away the bodies of the victims. British news agency Reuters reported this news. Hamas confirmed four of the dead were members of its al-Qassam armed wing. However, no information was available about the fifth person. His body was mutilated so identification was not possible. The Israeli military confirmed the death.
They said an Israeli officer from a special police unit was wounded in Saturday's operation. A car bomb in April injured two Israeli soldiers, including a soldier. They claimed that this operation is in view of that. Saturday's operation near the town of Tulkarm was the latest in a series of clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians in the West Bank.
Which has been intensifying since last October. Israeli forces demolished a two-storey house with a bulldozer in an operation that lasted for more than 12 hours. At least 500 Palestinians have been killed in attacks by Israeli forces or Jewish settlers in the West Bank or East Jerusalem since October 7, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
While many of them are Hamas fighters, most are civilians. In the Middle East War of 1967, Israeli forces occupied parts of the West Bank and Gaza. The Palestinians are fighting to get those two territories back.
