International Desk: Iran kept more than 1,000 ballistic missiles ready for a possible attack on Israel. This information was reported by the Iranian media Tehran Times in a report citing the US media The New York Times. Less than 48 hours after the publication of the report in the New York Times, on Saturday morning, Iran's capital Tehran and the two provinces adjacent to the capital, Khuzestan and Ilam, targeted various installations of the Iranian military. The Israeli Air Force has conducted "specific" operations.

The Iranian Air Force acknowledged in a statement that the attack caused limited damage. The report published by the New York Times on Thursday about Iran's missile stockpile states that 1,000 missiles have been prepared under the orders of the supreme spiritual leader of the country, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khamenei gave this order to the Iranian army as an advance preparation for a possible war as the level of Iran-Israel tension has increased recently.

It should be noted that the Israeli army has been conducting operations in Gaza for more than a year to disable Hamas, the armed political group that controls the Gaza Strip in Palestine. Since last September, the IDF has also launched an operation against Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas and the armed Islamist group based in Lebanon. After the start of the campaign in Lebanon, Israel launched a missile attack on Israel on the night of October 1 to warn Israel.

That night, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite wing of Iran's military, fired about 200 ballistic missiles at various Israeli installations. However, the IDF was able to destroy most of the Iranian missiles before they hit the target through anti-missile systems. Therefore, Israel did not suffer any damage in the October 1 attack. In an address to the nation on October 2, the day after the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel would respond to Iran's attack.

On the other hand, on October 3, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a meeting with journalists in Qatar that if Israel does not stop military operations in Gaza and Lebanon. Then such attacks will happen again in the near future. Due to these opposing positions of both sides, there is a fear of spreading tension and war in the Middle East.

Today's attack was carried out by the Israel Defense Forces amid this fear. Earlier on October 1, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite branch of Iran's military, fired about 200 ballistic missiles at Israel overnight.
