International Desk: The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has attacked Iran amidst the ongoing tension and war in the Middle East. The Iranian media reported that the capital city of Tehran and its surrounding areas are shaking from sudden explosions since Saturday morning. In response to Tehran's massive missile attack targeting Israel on October 1, Israel will retaliate - the fear has been swirling in the international and Middle East regional political circles since the October 1 attack.

That fear came true. According to an Israeli television channel report citing the IDF, the IDF air force is conducting the attack. An IDF statement after the attack said, "The Israel Defense Forces decided to launch this counter-attack in response to the series of attacks by the Iranian regime and its affiliated groups targeting the State of Israel over the past several months. We are forced to take this step, because it is our duty to protect Israel.

Citing Israeli officials, two US media outlets, NBC News and ABC News, said in their reports that the air force will only attack Iranian military installations. The country's nuclear facilities and oil mines will not be targeted. Meanwhile, Iran's semi-official news agency Fars News Agency reported that the Israeli Air Force attacked many military installations and bases in the west and southwest of Tehran.

Residents of the suburbs of Tehran and the city of Karaj, near the capital, have been hearing a series of powerful explosions since early Saturday morning, the country's state-run media reported. However, the state-owned media claimed that this sudden attack did not have any impact on the people. It is mentioned in the media that the life of ordinary people is normal. Iran's state television channel released some videos from Imam Khomeini International Airport, Tehran's main airport.

It shows ordinary passengers moving through the airport as normal as any other day. According to another semi-official news agency, Tasnim News Agency, Israeli forces hit several bases and installations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite branch of Iran's military, but did not sustain any major damage.
