International Desk: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Russia on Tuesday on a two-day state visit to attend the 16th summit of BRICS. He was welcomed in Kazan, Russia. This conference is starting from Tuesday. Modi is likely to have a bilateral meeting with Putin before that. In a statement, Modi said, this conference is a big platform for mutual cooperation between BRICS countries.

This forum is very important to discuss several issues related to mutual diplomatic, economic and global environment. Diplomats consider the conference to be significant, especially in the context of the current war situation in West Asia, in addition to the instability that has arisen between Russia and Ukraine for more than a year. Besides Russia, there is also a possibility of bilateral talks with the President of China. Besides the BRICS meeting, bilateral side meetings with Russia and China are also expected to become equally important.

Diplomats believe that a possible meeting with President Xi Jinping is significant, especially in view of the progress that New Delhi has demanded in resolving the border crisis with China. Modi visited Russia for the second time this year. Last July, he went to Moscow to attend the India-Russia Annual Summit.

At that time, he had a bilateral meeting with Russian President Putin. At that time, the topic of Russia-Ukraine war also came up. The two heads of state also discussed ways to stop the war and bring back a peaceful atmosphere. After that, Modi visited Ukraine in August.  Modi spoke to Putin on the phone after that visit.

After that, Modi wrote on social media that he had spoken with Putin about the Russia-Ukraine conflict. I told him what I had learned from my recent visit to Ukraine. Just one month after that, Modi again visited Russia. But this time the scene is different. Modi has arrived in Russia to attend the BRICS summit.
