A doctor and 6 migrant workers lost their lives on the spot in Gund area of ​​Gunderbal district on Sunday night when miscreants fired indiscriminately.

Besides, several people were injured. Earlier on October 18, terrorists killed a laborer from Bihar in Shopian district. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. According to the report, the terrorists opened fire on the camp housing staff of a private company.

They were working in an under-construction tunnel in Gund area. The Jammu and Kashmir police said that the area has been cordoned off by law enforcement personnel to nab the gunmen. Expressing deep grief over the incident, the new Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, said that the attack on the workers at Sonmarg is sad.

The victims were working on the construction of an important infrastructure project. Condemning this attack on unarmed people, he ordered to find the attackers. India's Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, condemning this terrible terrorist attack.
