Terrorist attack on Air Force convoy in Jammu and Kashmir, 1 killed

International Desk: An Indian Air Force soldier was killed in a terrorist attack on two vehicles of security forces in Surankot in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Five others were injured. One of them is in critical condition.

On Saturday (April 4) on the way from Jaranwali to the air force station, the soldiers fell victim to Hamalor. Indian media NDTV reported this news. In a statement, the Indian Air Force said that two convoys were attacked in the Shahshitar area of ​​Poonch district.

One of these vehicles belonged to the Air Force. The injured were taken by helicopter to Command Hospital in Udhampur for advanced treatment. The local state security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation immediately after the incident, the security forces claimed. In a post on social media, the Air Force also said that local military units are currently conducting a search operation in the area.

The vehicle fleet is secured. Further investigation is underway. The terrorist attack on the Air Force took place at a time when voting for the Lok Sabha elections was going on in India. The Poonch district where the attack took place is part of the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency. Voting will be held there on May 25.
