Bogra Representative: Two drug peddlers were arrested with 249 bottles of Phensidyl and 5 kg of ganja in a RAB raid on a Dhaka-bound truck from Rangpur. They were arrested from the Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Thengamara area of Sadar at around 7:30 am on Sunday.
The two arrested are Moksedul Islam (42), son of Habibur Rahman of Upper Mar Baniadangi of Patgram area of Lalmonirhat district and Rasel Hossain (27), son of deceased Mubarak Hossain of the same area.
Company Commander (Superintendent of Police) Mir Monir Hossain gave this information in a press briefing organized at RAB-12 Bogra camp on Sunday afternoon. He said that on the basis of secret information, it is known that a huge amount of drugs is being transported from Rangpur to Dhaka in a truck (Rangpur Metro-T 11-0341). Then a smart team of RAB conducted an operation in Thengamara area of Bogra. During the operation, RAB arrested two people along with recovering 249 bottles of Fensidil and 5 kg of ganja from that truck. Meanwhile, 2 mobile phones, 2 SIM cards and 5 thousand taka in cash were seized from them.
Mir Monir Hossain also said that the accused have been handed over to Bogra Sadar police station to take legal action.
