4 active members of the inter-district bandit gang were arrested in Narail

Narail correspondent:  While doing night mobile duty in Narail Sadar police station area, SI (retd) Narottam Biswas and ASI (retd) Saheb Ali Sangeya, along with the force, while staying at Bil Bottala in Ujirpur Sakinsta under Narail municipality, learned that the Lohagra highway was going west from Machimdia Sakinsthopakhola intersection of Narail Municipality No. 07. Some robbers are gathering in the mango garden of the high-rise house of Raihan Molya, a neighbor, and preparing to rob the area. On receiving the news, he immediately informed the higher authorities about the incident through mobile phone. Left for the said spot at 02.15 pm to verify the authenticity of the news and take legal action. At 02.20 am, the police raiding team reached the spot near the highway to Lohagara from Dhopakhola intersection on the eastern side of the mango garden of a deceased Raihan Molya resident of Machimdia, when unknown 8/9 robbers ran from the garden and got on top of a truck waiting on the highway. The driver quickly drove the truck towards Lohagara. At that time, when the people came from the surrounding areas with the help of the officers, the force and the local people, 04 robbers were caught from the mango garden of the upper house of one deceased Raihan Molya with the signs used for robbery.

If the names and addresses of the arrested robbers are interrogated, the following names and addresses are available: 1. Md. Rocky (26), Father- Md. Abdus Salam, Sang- Harian (East Para), Thana-Katakhali, District-Rajshahi; 2. Md. Abdur Rahman Swapan alias Swapan (21), Father- Md. Belal Hossain, Sang- Purba Darbarpur (Amber Ali Saudagar's house), Thana- Fulgazi, District- Feni; 3. Md. Iqbal (33), father- Abul alias Abul Kalam, Sang-Baroazari (Kashipur), Thana-Meghna, District-Comilla; 4. Md. Anich Mia (19), Father- Deceased Mizanur Rahman, Sang-Madhabadi (Khalpara), Thana-Madhabadi, District-Narsingdi, A/P-Tongi Station Road, Thana-Tongi East, District-Gazipur. At this time, the accused are in custody. (a) 01 (one) wooden handled ramada, 33 inches long with wooden butt, with wooden butt 11 inches and iron part 22 inches, (b) 01 (one) wooden handled sharp dagger, with wooden butt including 14 inches long, having 02 holes in the iron part, (c) 01(one) iron hammer with wooden handle, (d) 01(one) wooden stick wrapped with red tape, which is 23 inches long, (e) 01( (a) Steel pipe, which is 23 inches long, (f) White colored thick yarn rope, which is 12 feet long.

PCPR review of the accused revealed that all the accused are active members of inter-district gangs. DMP, RMP, GMP, Khagrachari district have multiple cases of theft and robbery in their name. The arrested accused along with the unidentified fugitive accused were preparing to commit a robbery in the area by colluding with each other in view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

A case of preparation for robbery has been registered against the said arrested accused and 8/9 accused who are absconding. The accused have been produced before the learned Court. Under the overall guidance of Narail District Superintendent of Police Mr. Mohd Mehdi Hasan, the district police is always active to maintain the safety and law and order situation of the people ahead of the upcoming Eid.
