They were robbing tree stumps on the road!

Bogra Correspondent: Police have arrested three persons on the charge of robbery by throwing trunks of trees on the road in the dark of night. According to the police, the three arrested are members of an inter-district robbery gang. District Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Snigdh Akhtar informed the matter in a press conference organized in the meeting room of District Superintendent of Police office on Tuesday afternoon. 

The arrested persons are Khokon Hossain (35) of Durgapur area of ​​Palashbari in Gaibandhar, Mozzafar Hossain Bipul (35) of Shajahanpur in Bogra and CNG auto rickshaw driver Nazrul Islam (45) of Shikarpur area of ​​Sadar in Bogra. Among them, Khokon and Vipul live in a house in Harigari area of ​​the city.

On October 10, around 9:30 pm, the accused blocked the road in Kadamtala area of ​​Chikashi Union of Dhunat Upazila of Bogra and robbed cash and mobile phones. Abdul Malek, one of the robbery victims, filed a case at Dhunat police station on October 12. Three people were arrested for their alleged involvement in that case.

District Additional Superintendent of Police Snigdh Akhtar said Abdul Malek was returning home with his cousin Rakibul Hasan Akil and another younger brother Monir. On the way, in the Kadamtala area, he saw tree stumps left on the road. As soon as they stopped there, the miscreants came and started beating them indiscriminately. After that, the miscreants took away the cash of one lakh two thousand taka and three smart phones worth about taka 55 thousand from the victims.

Later, when the case was filed, the police started investigating the incident, said Snigdh Akhtar. On investigation, the police could identify a person named Khokon. He was arrested from Chaksutrapur area of ​​the city on Monday. According to his information, the police arrested Vipul and later the autorickshaw driver Nazrul Islam. Sharp sticks, Burmese knives, ropes, hexoblades and CNG autorickshaws were recovered from them.

He also said that initially the three arrested persons confessed to the robbery. They said that they used to cut trees and throw them on the road in different police station areas of Bogra, Gaibandha, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Kurigram districts of North Bengal, rob, rob and kidnap.

Referring to the arrest of three active members of the inter-district bandit gang, the District Additional Superintendent of Police said, on inquiry, it was found that Khokon has 8 cases including theft and robbery in different police stations of Bogra and Gaibandha. And 8 cases including theft, robbery and murder were found in the name of Vipul and four cases were found against Nazrul. This official said that other members of this gang will also be arrested.
