8 kg Weed recovered from CNG autorickshaw in Chatmohar, 5 arrested

Pabna Correspondent: Officers of Narcotics Control Directorate Divisional Intelligence Office Rajshahi have seized eight kg of ganja from inside a CNG auto rickshaw at Chatmohar in Pabna and arrested 5 drug dealers. On Monday (September 25) morning, Narcotics Control Directorate, Rajshahi Divisional Intelligence Branch Deputy Inspector Md. Humayun Kabir and sub-inspector Mosaddek Hossain led the operation on the road of Jabarkol village of Gunaigacha union of the upazila.

Deputy Inspector Mosaddek Hossain of Rajshahi Divisional Intelligence Office of Narcotics Control Directorate said that based on secret information, a raiding party consisting of departmental staff was formed and a temporary check post was set up on Mannannagar-Chatmohar road in Jabarkol village of Chatmohar Upazila in Pabna.

An unnumbered CNG autorickshaw bound for Pabna was searched at around 9 am on this day and eight kg of ganja wrapped in polythene was recovered under the feet of the passengers in a travel bag. Meanwhile, 5 drug dealers were arrested. They are Md. Saiful Islam (38) of Kismat Pratappur village of Pabna Sadar police station, Md. Minhaj (30) of Paschim Sadhupara village of Pabna Sadar police station, Shamim Parvez alias Salak (31) of Char Bhabanipur village. ), Md. Shipan Prang (26) of Char Bhavanipur Pramanikpara village and Md. Wasim Pramanik (25) of the same village.

Apart from ganja, 6 mobile phones and sims were seized from the arrested persons. During the raid, two drug dealers tried to run away and were apprehended with the help of local residents. Chatmohar police station officer-in-charge Md Salim Reza said that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Act against the arrested.
