News Desk: Educational institutions across the country are going on continuous holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha and the summer vacation. The holiday will begin after classes on Thursday (May 21). Primary and secondary schools as well as colleges will remain closed for 16 days, while madrasas will be closed for 23 days.
According to the annual holiday list and academic calendar, the Eid and summer vacation is scheduled to begin on May 24. However, since Friday and Saturday fall as weekly holidays beforehand, the last classes will be held on May 21. This will be followed by the regular weekly holidays on May 22 and 23 (Friday and Saturday).
As per the academic calendar, holidays in government and non-government primary schools, secondary schools, technical institutions, and colleges will start on May 22 and continue until June 4. After the weekend holidays on June 5 and 6, classes will resume on Sunday, June 7. As a result, students of primary, secondary, college, and technical institutions will enjoy a continuous 16-day break including weekends.
On the other hand, madrasa students will have a longer छुटि. In Ebtedayi, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil, and Kamil madrasas, the छुटि will begin on May 22 and continue until June 11. After the weekend holidays on June 12 and 13 (Friday and Saturday), classes will resume on Sunday, June 14. Therefore, madrasa students will get a total of 23 days of छुटि.
Meanwhile, after educational institutions reopen in June, there will be several public holidays in July and August. According to the academic calendar, there will be a holiday on July 29 on the occasion of Ashadhi Purnima. In addition, institutions will remain closed on August 5 (July Uprising Day), August 12 (Akhiri Chahar Shomba), and August 26 (Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi). There are also scheduled holidays in September for Shubho Janmashtami and Fateha-i-Yazdaham.
