News Desk: Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon has expressed regret over his remarks about students, saying that his comments were not intentional.

He made the statement during the National Parliament's budget session at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday (July 14).

Earlier in the day, HSC examinees staged road blockades, protests, and rallies in Dhaka and other parts of the country, demanding the education minister's resignation over the decision to hold examinations despite the ongoing flood situation and for referring to examinees as chickens.

The demonstrations took place in front of the Dhaka Education Board, at Science Lab and Uttara in the capital, as well as in Mymensingh, Barishal, Bogura, Narayanganj, Chattogram, and several other locations across the country.

The road blockades disrupted traffic on several major roads and highways. Later in the afternoon, agitated students gathered in front of the National Parliament area to continue their protest.
