Staff Correspondent: The Malaysia Education Expo 2026 was officially inaugurated on Friday at Hotel Sarina in Banani, Dhaka, by the Malaysian High Commissioner, Mohd. Suhada Othman. Also present at the event were the head of the Malaysian delegation and EMGS South Asia Head, Moein Uddin Ahmed Khan.

The expo has been organized by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), an agency under Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education, with the aim of connecting Bangladeshi students to 12 top Malaysian universities.

The “Study in Malaysia” Education Expo Bangladesh 2026 is an initiative designed to provide reliable and direct information about higher education opportunities in Malaysia to Bangladeshi students, parents, and professionals.

A total of 12 renowned Malaysian universities, including 4 public universities, are participating in the expo. Programs on offer range from foundation and diploma courses to bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and post-doctoral studies.

The expo will take place:

  • 8–9 May at Hotel Sarina, Banani, Dhaka
  • 13 May at The Grand River View Hotel, Rajshahi
  • 15 May at The Peninsula Hotel, Chattogram

For Bangladeshi professionals considering Master’s, PhD, or post-doctoral studies, the expo offers a unique opportunity to explore Malaysia’s rapidly growing research environment.

Malaysian universities provide research-based postgraduate programs, opportunities to participate in internationally supervised research, and involvement in high-impact publications and industry-linked projects.

Malaysia also offers a family-friendly study environment, where eligible postgraduate students may apply to bring their dependents, allowing professionals to pursue higher education without compromising family responsibilities.

With its affordable cost of living, flexible study options, and strong industry connections, Malaysia is considered a practical and strategic destination for career advancement.

As part of the visit, the Malaysian delegation will hold a courtesy meeting with Bangladesh’s Education Minister on 11 May 2026, and on 18 May will participate in the Bangladesh-Malaysia Higher Education Networking Session, organized with support from the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC).

The delegation will also attend a high-level networking session hosted by the Malaysian government at Six Seasons Hotel, where vice-chancellors and senior leaders from public and private universities of both countries will gather.

The networking session will be attended by the CEO of EMGS, the Malaysian High Commissioner, senior officials from the UGC and ministries, and distinguished members of the media.

Visitors to the expo are expected to benefit from:

  • Direct interaction with university representatives
  • Verified information on admissions, scholarships, and tuition fees
  • Guidance on student visa processing through EMGS
  • Information on regulations and student welfare services
  • Insights into career pathways and global opportunities

Malaysia continues to establish itself as a leading global education hub, offering internationally recognized qualifications, affordable education, a multicultural environment, and strong industry linkages.
