Meeting between the Turkish President and the Prime Minister: Commitment to further strengthen Bangladesh-Turkey ties

News Desk: A bilateral meeting was held between Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

During the meeting, the top leaders of both countries expressed a strong commitment to further strengthening the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Turkey and opening new avenues of future cooperation based on mutual interest and shared priorities.

The bilateral meeting took place on Tuesday evening local time at Turkish House, located at 821 United Nations Plaza near the UN Headquarters in New York, between Prime Minister of Bangladesh Tarique Rahman and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. AKM Nazmul Huq, Assistant Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, informed of this development.

The Assistant Press Secretary stated that both leaders exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest to further reinforce and diversify the historical and friendly ties between Bangladesh and Turkey. At the same time, they discussed the possibilities of expanding existing cooperation across various sectors, including economy, trade, and investment.

He added that during the discussions, emphasis was placed on maintaining close cooperation and coordination between the two nations on key regional and international issues, as well as matters of mutual interest.

Both leaders reaffirmed their determination to consolidate the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Turkey and to unlock new areas of future collaboration grounded in mutual benefit and common priorities.
