News Desk: Bangladesh received US$2.621 billion in remittances during the first 28 days (four weeks) of the current month, with average daily inflows reaching approximately US$93.6 million.
The information was confirmed on Wednesday (July 29) by Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan.
He said that remittance inflows during the first 28 days of July totaled US$2.621 billion, compared with US$2.187 billion during the same period last year. This represents a 19.8 percent year-on-year increase in remittance receipts.
Earlier, Bangladesh received US$2.817 billion in remittances in June. Of that amount, US$515.1 million was channeled through state-owned commercial banks.
Specialized banks received US$441.68 million, while private commercial banks accounted for US$1.8536 billion in remittance inflows. Foreign commercial banks handled an additional US$661,000.
In May, remittance inflows reached US$3.425 billion, marking the second-highest monthly remittance record in Bangladesh's history. The country received US$3.1273 billion in April, while March recorded US$3.75505 billion, the highest monthly remittance inflow ever.
Meanwhile, expatriate Bangladeshis sent a record US$35.562 billion in remittances during the 2025–26 fiscal year, the highest amount ever received in a single fiscal year in the country's history.
