News Desk: Final-stage work is underway to implement the new pay scale for government employees. The announcement will be made once the review and verification process is completed, said Prime Minister’s Adviser on Economic Affairs Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Thursday (August 20).
Regarding the energy crisis, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir said the government is making its utmost efforts to resolve the crisis. The government will ensure a three-month fuel reserve, and load-shedding is expected to decrease next winter.
He said a sustainable energy sector is expected to be established by 2029. By then, the government aims to ensure at least 5,000 megawatts of electricity from renewable energy sources. Initiatives are being taken to provide relief to the people.
Regarding inflation control, the Prime Minister’s Economic Adviser said the government is implementing various measures to contain inflation. He also said the previous government took loans without restraint, but their use was not sustainable.
