Remittance of BDT 11 Thousand Crore Arrived in Eight Days of September

News Desk: Expatriate remittances to the country reached USD 904 million in the first 8 days of September this year, which equals BDT 11,119.02 crore in local currency (calculated at BDT 123 per dollar).

Arif Hossain Khan, spokesperson for Bangladesh Bank, shared this information on Wednesday (September 9).

According to central bank data, remittances stood at USD 881 million during the first 8 days of September last year. Compared to that period, remittances grew by 2.70 percent during the same timeframe this year.

From July 1 to September 8 of the current fiscal year, the country received USD 6.73 billion in remittances. During the same period in the previous fiscal year, expatriate earnings amounted to USD 5.78 billion. In comparison, remittances increased by 16.40 percent during the same period this year.
