International Desk: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that Bangladesh's economy could reach $677 billion in just five years. Within this timeframe, the size of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will surpass economies like Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand.

These findings were featured in a report titled "The $150 Trillion Global Economy in 2030" by the Canadian media outlet Visual Capitalist.

According to the IMF's forecast, Malaysia's GDP is expected to reach $672.5 billion by 2030. Meanwhile, the economies of Vietnam, Denmark, and Thailand will reach $667.5 billion, $589.2 billion, and $647.5 billion, respectively. This list was compiled based on the GDP of these nations.

On the other hand, the United States will remain at the top as the world's largest economy in 2030. The country's total GDP could grow to nearly $37.7 trillion. China will hold the second position with an economic size of approximately $26 trillion.

The report hints at intense competition for the third position. By 2030, the economic gap between Germany and India is projected to be just $5 billion. The GDPs of Germany, India, and the UK are forecasted to reach $6,178 billion, $6,173 billion, and $5,148 billion, respectively.

Five countries contribute to 53.3% of global GDP, with the United States accounting for more than a quarter of it. Furthermore, Japan, France, Brazil, Italy, and Canada will round out the top 10 largest economies in the world.

The IMF predicts rapid expansion for the global economy over the next five years. According to the World Economic Outlook forecast, the global economy could expand by nearly $25 trillion between 2026 and 2030.

The report also predicts that the total size of the global economy could cross $150 trillion by 2030.
