News Desk: Bangladesh received US$2.669 billion in remittances during the first 29 days of August this year, equivalent to Tk 32,828.70 crore at an exchange rate of Tk 123 per US dollar.
The information was confirmed on Sunday (August 30) by Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan.
According to Arif Hossain Khan, remittance inflows totaled Tk 2,632.20 crore over the last three days (Thursday to Saturday). During the first 29 days of August last year, Bangladesh received US$2.182 billion in remittances. Compared with the same period this year, remittance inflows have increased by 22.30%.
An analysis of the overall remittance inflows for the current fiscal year (from July 1 to August 29) shows that Bangladesh has received a total of US$5.527 billion so far. During the same period in the previous fiscal year, the country received US$4.66 billion in remittances.
