News Desk: One person has died of dengue across the country in the last 24 hours. During this period, 242 people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue infections.
This information was shared in a press release regarding the dengue situation sent by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday (18 July).
According to the release, among those hospitalized with dengue in the last 24 hours, 10 are in Barishal division, 38 in Chittagong division, 21 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporations), 77 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 35 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 40 in Khulna division, and 21 in Mymensingh division.
The DGHS stated that a total of 10,012 people have been infected with dengue so far this year. Among them, 61 percent are male and 39 percent are female. A total of 9,067 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from dengue.
The DGHS further added that with this, the total death toll from dengue fever has reached 33 this year.
