Death of ASP Anisul: Mind Aid hospital Director, Neaz Morshed arrested

CNI Desk: Director Neaz Morshed of Mind Aid hospital has been arrested in a case filed over the death of Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Senior ASP Anisul Karim Shipon.

Mrittunjoy Dey Shojol, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Tejgaon Division) confirmed the matter.

“He was arrested from the neuroscience hospital area of the capital this evening,” he said.

 

Earlier ten staff members of Mind Aid Hospital were arrested in the same case.

The arrestees include Mind Aid Hospital’s Marketing Manager Arif Mahmud Joy, 35, and Coordinator Redwan Sabbir, 23.

Anisul Karim Shipon from Gazipur was working as the assistant commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police’s traffic department. He returned home in Gazipur from Barishal on Monday, Faruk Molla, Inspector at Adabor Police Station, said.

Anisul Karim, had been suffering from mental complications over some family issues, said his brother Rezaul Karim.

Anisul’s sister took him to the private hospital ‘Mind Aid’ on Monday morning, but died before the admission procedure ended.

Family members of the deceased officer alleged that hospital staffers beat him to death.
