Locals have caught the thief along with the cows of Islampur and handed them over to the police

Jamalpur Correspondent: In Jamalpur's Islampur upazila, a cow thief named Noor Mohammad (59) was caught by the local residents along with a cow. The arrested Nur Mohammad is the son of Huzur Ali of Rouharkanda village of upazila.

On Tuesday (March 19) when the Islampur police station produced Noor Mohammad in the Jamalpur court in the case of cow theft, the concerned judge denied bail and ordered Noor to be sent to jail.

The previous day on Monday afternoon, the people of Rambhadra Bazar area of ​​Noarpara Union of Upazila handed over Nur Mohammad along with the stolen cow to the police.

According to the case filed at Islampur police station, as usual, on Monday morning, Phulu Mia, son of Jalal Mia of Rouharkanda village tied a cow worth Tk 60,000 to the courtyard of the homestead and let it eat grass. In the afternoon, Phulu Mia went to Islampur Sadar for personal needs.

On the occasion that there was no one at home, Nur Mohammad stole the cow and went towards the neighboring Melandah upazila to sell it. On reaching the Rambhadra Bazar area, the local people arrested Noor Mohammad along with the cow and informed the police. The police brought Noor Mohammad along with the cow to Islampur police station.

Islampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Suman Talukdar said, 'The owner of the cow has filed a case on the charge of theft of the cow. When produced in the court, the concerned judge ordered to send the bull thief Noor Mohammad to jail.
