Rabiul Alam Ivan, Kushtia: In the case of child rape of Kushtia Daulatpur police station, the court ordered a life imprisonment of a young man named Johnny (34) along with a fine of 1 lakh rupees. Judge Syed Habibul Islam of Kushtia Women and Child Torture Prevention Special Court announced this verdict in the presence of the convicted accused in the Janakirna court on Monday afternoon. The deceased is - Md Johnny (34), son of Hafizul Pramanik of Kushtia Daulatpur Upazila. According to court sources, on March 12, 2018, at 5:30 pm, three children studying in the 2nd grade of Golabaria Government Primary School were cutting grass in the field of Filifnagar village of Daulpur Upazila. At that time, the accused Johnny took a girl child to the adjacent tobacco field on the pretense that he would cut grass and raped the child (7). When the injured child screamed, the other two children and the other farmers working in the field ran, leaving the injured child in the tobacco field and the rapist escaped. In this incident, on March 12, 2018, the father of the affected child filed a case of rape with the sole accused Johnir Namollek at Daulatpur police station. After investigating the case, on March 18, 2019, Daulatpur police station sub-inspector Shariful Islam filed a charge sheet against Johnny, the only accused involved in child rape. State Counsel (PP) Adv. Abdul Halim confirmed the truth and said that as the charges brought against Johnny, accused of child rape of Daulatpur police station, were proven beyond doubt, the court ordered him to serve one more year of rigorous imprisonment without paying a fine of 1 lakh rupees along with life imprisonment.
