News Desk: The Department of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized the world famous Rolls Royce brand car of the United Kingdom. The market value of the car is Tk 28 crore. The car was seized from the garage of a house in the Baridhara area of ​​the capital on Monday (July 4th). According to the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department, the cylinder capacity of this vehicle is 6,650. Such vehicles are subject to eight times the taxable value. The year of production of this type of sports utility vehicle is 2021. The model name is Cullinan SUV. According to the department, on April 26, Z&Z Intimates Limited, a joint venture between Chittagong EPZ, Hong Kong and Bangladesh, imported Rolls-Royce vehicles on duty-free basis. However, before the customs duty, the managing director of the car was removed to his home in Baridhara, Dhaka on May 16. Knowing the matter, the Customs Detective and Investigation Department conducted an operation in Chittagong EPZ. After confirmation, a raid was carried out in the garage of the managing director's house in Baridhara under the leadership of Shamsul Arefin Khan, joint director of the customs detective and investigation department. The car was seized from the garage of his home on Monday. Ahmedur Reza Chowdhury, deputy director of the customs detective and investigation department, said the car was seized under customs law. At the same time, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department is investigating why the imported car was not cleared even 60 days after it was released.
