Rabiul Alam, Kushtia: A court has sentenced Debor Shukur Malitha to life imprisonment for killing a woman named Raushna (40) in Kushtia's Daulatpur upazila. He was also fined Tk 20,000 and sentenced to one more year rigorous imprisonment for non-payment. Kushtia Additional District and Sessions Judge on Monday noon. Tajul Islam gave the verdict. The convicts sentenced to life imprisonment are- Md. Mozammel Haque's son Md. Shukur Malitha. Accused Shukur Malitha was present in the court when the verdict was announced. After the verdict was announced, the accused was sent to Kushtia District Jail. According to court and affidavit, Raushna, 40, wife of Abdul Jalil Chowkidar of Paschim Char Ramkrishnapur village in Chilmari union of Kushtia Daulatpur upazila, drank water from Bithi, 7, daughter of accused Shukur Malitha Jalil while digging a hole in the yard on March 20, 2013. Wants At that time, when Bithi left without water, the accused Shukur Malitha scolded Bithi in obscene language. When Bithi's mother Raushna protested at that time, Raushna got into an argument with Shukur. At one stage, the accused Shukur Malitha hit Raushna on the back of the head with a spade and fell to the ground, killing her on the spot. Later, the police came to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the morgue. Raushna's brother Ali Azgar, who was killed in the incident, filed a murder case with Daulatpur Police Station on March 20, 2020. After investigating the case, the investigating officer SI Faisal Hossain submitted the report of the case to the court on October 2, 2013. The verdict was announced on Monday after the court took the testimony of witnesses in the case.
