Nur Alam, Gopalpur (Tangail): Police have arrested two gamblers, including a UP member, while they were gambling at a school classroom in Gopalpur. They were arrested from Ajgara Lower Secondary School in Hadira Union on Sunday night. The detainees were identified as Rezaul Karim, 40, son of late Abul Kalam Master of Azgara village and Sirajul Islam, 52, son of late Jabed Ali of the same area. Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Zayed Abdullah bin Charwar said they were apprehended while gambling for money in a classroom at Azgara Lower Secondary School on a tip-off. Gambling equipment along with cash was seized at the time. Officer-in-charge (OC) said. Confirming the incident, Mosharraf Hossain said that the arrested gamblers have been sent to Tangail Jail through a court under the Gambling Act of 18.
