Tofazzal Hossain, Pabna: The Consumer Rights Protection Department has fined two rice mill owners Tk 70,000 for selling rice under the name of a popular band in Ishwardi, Pabna. The order was issued on Thursday (June 9) at 2 pm by conducting raids in Dashuria and Munsidpur of the upazila. It is learned that Mallick Auto Rice Mill and Rose Agro Foods are selling their produced rice in different names including Kushtia's traditional Miniket rice, best special rice, Dinajpur's Desh best rice without resorting to fraud. Aslam Hossain, owner of Mallick Auto Rice Mill, was fined Tk 40,000 and Akhtar Hossain, owner of Rose Agro Foods, was fined Tk 40,000. Ishwardi Upazila Food Control Officer (Additional Charge) Shafiqul Islam and Upazila Safe Food Inspector Sanwar Hossain were present on the occasion.
