News Desk: He cultivated the fake identity through social media platforms and tricked over a hundred women.

A security guard has been arrested in Bogra for posing as an official of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to deceive and blackmail women.

The guard tricked four women into marrying him and deceived more than a hundred others over the past two years, according to RAB.

Abdur Rakib Khokon alias TikTok Raj, 26, was arrested from the Mohammadpur police station area in Dhaka on Monday. A case has also been filed with the police station.

The arrestee hails from Naogaon district.

During a press conference at the RAB Media Centre on Tuesday, RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin said they seized a fake RAB uniform and fake ID cards of RAB and BGB during the arrest.

“By posing as an official of the law enforcement agencies on TikTok, Khokon garnered almost two million likes on the platform and established relationships with various women. After the relationships became intimate, he blackmailed the women with private photos,” the RAB spokesperson added.

He further said Khokon would identify himself as Lance Naik, an assistant platoon commander of BGB who was debuted to RAB. The security guard actually used to be a garment worker and studied up to the SSC level.

In addition to using TikTok, the guard also cultivated the fake identity on Facebook, imo, and WhatsApp, according to a RAB press release.

The RAB official also said Khokon produced content featuring the daily life of law enforcement officials. He edited several photos to make it appear as if he had participated in law enforcement agency events.
