Five die of dengue in 24 hours, 1,872 hospitalised

Five people died of dengue across the country in the past 24 hours, while 1,872 patients were hospitalised during the same period.

According to data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday (September 22), a total of 195 people have died of dengue in the country so far this year, while 65,499 patients have been hospitalised.

Of the five deaths reported in the past 24 hours, two occurred in Rajshahi division and one each in Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation and Barishal division. Among the deceased, three were men and two were women.

Earlier, 1,753 dengue patients were hospitalised on September 16, 1,593 on September 15 and 1,571 on September 8.
