CNI Desk: Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla has stressed the need for tapping trade facilities between Bangladesh and India.

He made the statement as Chairman of Bashundhara Group Ahmed Akbar Sobhan made a courtesy call on him Wednesday morning.

Indian Foreign Secretary, who made a sudden visit to Dhaka aiming to boost bilateral ties, said the relations between two next-door neighbours will reach a new high through business ties.

Bashundhara Group’s vice chairmen Shafiat Sobhan Sanvir, Safwan Sobhan Tasvir and Bangladesh Pratidin editor Naem Nizam were also present on the occasion.

India is a time-tested friend of Bangladesh, said Harsh Vardhan adding that the relations will improve further by boosting trade in the days to come.
