International Desk: Hamas has decided to withdraw from the ongoing ceasefire negotiations with Israel. One of the group's leaders said the decision was made because of the Israelis' "massacre" and their hostile attitude towards negotiations.

This senior leader of Hamas also said that their main leader, Ismail Haniya, told international mediators, "The occupiers are not serious about negotiations." They are adopting a policy of obstruction and obfuscation and continue to massacre our unarmed civilians. Because of this, we have decided to suspend the talks." Israeli forces carried out deadly airstrikes on al-Mawasi area, which was declared as a 'safe zone' in Gaza, on Saturday. More than 90 Palestinians were killed in this Israeli attack.

Hamas called the attack a genocide. They said that they have carried out barbaric attacks on common people in front of everyone.  An Israeli official said an "open area" in al-Mawassi was targeted by the attack, which targeted the head of Hamas' military wing, Mohammed Deif. Only Hamas members were in that area.

There were no civilians there. Rafa Salama, the commander of Hamas in Khan Younis, was also targeted in the attack. The officer claimed that the attack was carried out based on intelligence information. But Hamas has dismissed Israeli claims of targeting leaders as false. In a statement, the Palestinian independence group said it was not the first Israeli claim to target Palestinian leaders.

Their claims have been proven false numerous times in the past as well. Hamas later reported that Mohammad Deif was fine and was monitoring everything. The pro-independence armed group decided to withdraw from the ceasefire talks after the attack in Al Mawasi.
