The public life of Chalanbil area is affected by the severe fire, the number of patients in the hospital is increasing

Pabna representative:  The common people of Chalanbil region including Chatmohar have become fed up due to severe fire. People's life grinds in the harsh sun and scorching heat. The number of patients suffering from various diseases including fever, pneumonia, diarrhoea, shortness of breath is increasing in the upazila hospital due to intense pressure for several days. 

Due to non-availability of beds, patients are taking treatment to get beds in the corridors and balconies of the hospital. The number of heat-related patients is increasing in the hospital every day. Doctors are struggling to see patients.

Chatmohar recorded a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius on Saturday (April 20). 110 people suffering from various diseases are under treatment at the upazila health complex due to heavy fire. 17 people have been admitted to the children's department of the hospital. The number of beds in the children's ward is 10. In this 50-bed hospital, patients twice as many as the number of beds are under treatment. Due to lack of space in the wards, patients are being treated to get beds on floors and balconies.

Chatmohar Health Complex Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Armila Akhtar said, 'With increasing heat, the pressure of patients suffering from various diseases including fever, pneumonia, diarrhea, breathing difficulties is increasing in the hospital. Since Eid till now patients with more number of beds are being treated in different wards. Patients with no beds are being treated in balconies and corridors, while doctors and nurses are struggling to cope with the extra patient pressure.

At this time, as a suggestion, this doctor said, 'In intense heat, children and the elderly are getting sick more. In this case, extra precautions should be taken. Drink more water. Drink more cold drinks especially lemon juice, canned water. At this time, avoid heat and stay in a cool place.

Meanwhile, nature has come to a standstill in the unbearable Vapsa heat. The number of vehicles and people in the city is also less than on normal days. Especially the working people are in extreme trouble. They have to endure unbearable hardships in intense heat when they go out for work. Many are sprinkling water on tin rice to keep the house cool. Besides, Boro paddy is dying due to intense heat wave. The mango pulp is drying up and falling in the storm.
