Elementary-Kindergarten is also Friday-Saturday

News desk: Government primary schools and kindergarten schools have decided to implement two days off in a week. Friday and Saturday of the week will be closed.

According to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the instructions will be issued on Monday (August 22) or Tuesday (August 23).

The senior secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education confirmed the matter. Aminul Islam said, "According to the decision of the government, all government primary schools and kindergarten schools in the country will be closed for two days. The holiday will be enforced on Friday and Saturday of the week. Regular classes will be conducted in schools on other days. In this regard, a decision was taken in our ministry on Monday. Instructions will be issued today or tomorrow Tuesday. It will be implemented from next week.”

In order to save electricity and energy, it has been decided to have two days off in a week in educational institutions. It will be effective from Wednesday, August 24. At the same time, the government, autonomous and sub-government offices of the country will run from 8 am to 3 pm.

This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held on Monday (August 22) under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The Prime Minister joined the meeting through video conference from the Gana Bhavan and the Ministers of State from the meeting room of the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam informed the journalists about this information. He said, "The Ministry of Education will decide when the two-day holiday will be effective. The Ministry of Education will soon notify in this regard."

At present, some of the educational institutions of the country keep two days off in a week. But the government decision is one day weekend. Therefore, in the government schools and colleges of the country, only one day holiday in a week is followed.

According to the new decision, it was announced that the weekend will be two days from next year. But Education Minister Dipu Moni said that this holiday is currently being considered for two days to save electricity. Recently he informed about this plan in an event in Dhaka.
