Saturday weekend may be canceled in educational institutions from next year

News Desk:  Education Minister Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury said that schools can be kept open on Saturdays from next year if necessary to coordinate the Ramadan holidays. He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by the Ministry of Education at the International Mother Language Institute auditorium in the capital on Tuesday (March 26). 

The Education Minister said that the Ministry will be extremely careful in all matters including the preparation of textbooks while respecting the beliefs and thoughts of people of all opinions. 

This year, the High Court ordered school holidays during Ramadan. However, the ministry was adamant about the decision to keep the school open. They appealed on the day before Ramadan. The hearing of the application seeking stay of the order of the High Court was held on Monday afternoon. State's highest law officer AM Amin Uddin informed about the policy decision of the government regarding keeping schools open in the hearing. 

At this time, the chamber judge asked the question, what will be the problem if the school is closed for a few days? Later, without staying the High Court's order, the Appellate Division fixed the hearing on Tuesday. Later, the Appellate Division stayed the High Court's order regarding the closure of primary and secondary schools during Ramadan.
