Prime Minister Congratulates Trump on U.S. Independence Day

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that the United States has stood by Bangladesh as a valued friend and important partner in its democratic and development journey since the country's independence.

Marking the 250th Independence Day of the United States, the Prime Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to U.S. President Donald Trump and the American people. He conveyed the message in a letter sent on Saturday (July 4).

In his letter to President Trump, the Prime Minister wrote, "On behalf of the Government and the people of Bangladesh, as well as myself personally, I extend my warmest congratulations to you and the people of the United States on this historic milestone. We believe that under your pragmatic and visionary leadership, the United States will continue its journey toward even greater achievements in the decades ahead."

Tarique Rahman noted that as the United States celebrates this landmark occasion, the 'America 250' celebration serves as an inspiration to people around the world by highlighting the American dream, sacrifice, freedom, values, heritage, and the country's global contributions.

Recalling the long-standing and multifaceted relationship between Bangladesh and the United States, the Prime Minister said that the U.S. has remained a valued friend and key partner in Bangladesh's democratic and development journey since its independence. Over the past five decades, bilateral ties have evolved into a strong partnership through cooperation in trade, investment, education, defense, and close people-to-people connections.

He further stated that a new chapter in bilateral relations has begun this year, marked by significant progress in trade, energy cooperation, and investment. He also expressed deep gratitude for the United States' continued support and generosity in addressing the Rohingya crisis.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his government's commitment to working closely with President Trump and his administration to further strengthen and deepen the partnership on issues of shared interest.

He concluded by wishing President Trump good health, long life, and continued success, while expressing his hopes for lasting peace, prosperity, and happiness for the friendly people of the United States.
