News Desk: China has reaffirmed its commitment to cooperate with Bangladesh on the Teesta River project just as before. Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka, Yao Wen, stated that China will work on the Teesta project as soon as it receives a request from Bangladesh, emphasizing that their stance on this matter remains unchanged.
He made these remarks on Thursday (July 2) during a press conference organized at the Chinese Embassy in the capital. At the press conference, which was held following Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s recent visit to China, the Ambassador spoke on various issues.
Yao Wen said that China will work on the Teesta project in accordance with Bangladesh's request. There has been no change in China's position regarding this project.
He further added that China will continue to assist Bangladesh with the Teesta project to the best of its capabilities. Beyond this, no other factors are under their consideration.
