News Desk: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate, Customs, and an intelligence agency conducted a joint raid on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight arriving from Dubai at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, seizing 19 kg of gold worth 45 crore BDT from its cargo hold. However, no one could be detained in connection with the incident.
The Executive Director of the airport, SM Ragib Samad, confirmed that the gold was seized from a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight on Thursday morning (July 2).
He stated that at around 10:30 AM on Thursday (July 2), a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG 148) arrived in Dhaka from Dubai via Chattogram. Acting on a tip-off, a total of 160 gold bars were recovered from the aircraft's cargo hold (baggage compartment). The recovered gold weighs approximately 19 kg, carrying a current market value of 45 crore BDT.
According to relevant sources, an investigation is currently underway to identify those involved in the incident.
