News Desk: Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has departed for Dalian, China, after concluding his two-day official visit to Malaysia.
The Prime Minister left Kuala Lumpur International Airport for Dalian on a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at 5:00 PM local time on Monday (June 22).
According to Atikur Rahman Rumman, Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, Tareque Rahman has left Malaysia for Dalian, where he will spend two busy days attending official engagements. Afterward, he will travel to Beijing, the capital of China, where the main programs of his official visit will begin.
Prime Minister Tareque Rahman is scheduled to participate in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Dalian.
At the exclusive VIP terminal of the Bunga Raya Complex at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia’s Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Hasan and his spouse bid farewell to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Monjurul Karim, and Deputy High Commissioner Shahanara Monika were also present at the airport.
Prime Minister Tareque Rahman arrived in Malaysia on Sunday (June 21) for a two-day visit.
This was his first visit to Malaysia after forming the government on February 17 following a landslide victory in the 13th National Parliamentary Election. It was also Tareque Rahman’s first foreign trip as prime minister.
During the brief visit, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh held an extensive meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The visit began with a one-on-one meeting between the two leaders. This was followed by a limited-scale discussion in which important issues concerning bilateral relations were discussed openly. Subsequently, a larger and cordial meeting was held with representatives from both sides to further strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.
