Dhaka, June 21 (CNI): After a day of intense heat and uncomfortable humid conditions, the capital experienced a refreshing spell of rain in the afternoon, bringing relief to city residents. However, the rainfall also caused inconvenience for commuters during office hours.
On Sunday (June 21), rain accompanied by gusty winds began around 4:30 PM in various parts of Dhaka. Areas including Dhanmondi, Kalabagan, Farmgate, and Banglamotor reported rainfall.
While the drop in temperature brought relief to residents, many office-goers and pedestrians faced difficulties as they were caught in the rain while returning home. Traffic movement slowed down significantly on several roads, and congestion was reported in different parts of the city.
According to a 48-hour weather forecast issued at 9 AM on the day, moderate to very heavy rainfall is likely at places in the Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions between Sunday morning and Tuesday morning.
The forecast also said that light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds are likely in many areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and in some places of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions by Monday morning.
