You Will Never Go Wrong Betting on the United States: Brent Christensen

News Desk: U.S. Ambassador Brent Christensen has said that Bangladesh will never make a mistake by betting on or maintaining a partnership with the United States in the long term.

The ambassador made the remarks while speaking to journalists after meeting Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday (June 20).

He arrived at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 1:00 pm and held a meeting that lasted for nearly an hour. After the meeting, instead of discussing bilateral issues, the ambassador referred to the United States’ major victory in a football World Cup match on Friday night.

Christensen indirectly highlighted the potential long-term benefits of maintaining close relations with the United States. He said, “I came here for a very important reason. Last night, the United States achieved a great victory against Australia in the World Cup and advanced to the next round.”

He added, “So I have come here to encourage the Foreign Minister and all Bangladeshis to support the United States in the upcoming days of the World Cup. Because if you bet on the United States in the long run, you will never regret it.”
