Government promotes five police officers to Additional IGP

The government has promoted five police officers to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP), placing them in Grade-2 under the National Pay Scale 2015.

The Home Ministry’s Police-1 branch issued a notification in this regard on Sunday (August 23). Signed by Deputy Secretary Tousif Ahmed on behalf of the President, the notification said the promotions were made in the public interest.

The promoted officers are Md Sayedur Rahman, Director (DIG) of the Central Police Hospital; Md Mainul Hasan, Additional IGP (currently in charge) of Tourist Police; and Md Israel Howlader, Commissioner (DIG) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP).

The other two are Md Iqbal Hossain, DIG of the Special Branch (SB) of police, and Md Kamrul Ahsan, DIG at Police Headquarters.

According to the notification, the promoted officers must submit their joining reports to the Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry through the appropriate authority.

The order will take effect from the date the officers join their new posts.
