New Update from the Meteorological Department on Temperature

News Desk: The Meteorological Department has said that the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and is in a moderate position over the North Bay of Bengal. At the same time, there is a possibility of a low-pressure area forming over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal-Bangladesh coastal areas within the next 24 hours.

The information was provided in a forecast issued on Saturday (August 22) by Meteorologist Md. Shahinul Islam of the Meteorological Department.

The Meteorological Department said that within the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and in some places of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions. Moderate to heavy rainfall may also occur at some places across the country. Day and night temperatures may decrease slightly across the country.

From 6 p.m. on Sunday (August 23) for the following 24 hours, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in many places of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and in some places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions. Moderate to heavy rainfall may also occur at some places across the country. Daytime temperatures may decrease slightly across the country, while nighttime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.

From 6 p.m. on Monday (August 24) for the following 24 hours, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and in some places of Rajshahi, Khulna and Dhaka divisions. Moderate to heavy rainfall may also occur at some places across the country. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

From 6 p.m. on Tuesday (August 25) for the following 24 hours, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in many places of Rangpur, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and in some places of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Khulna divisions. Moderate to heavy rainfall may also occur at some places across the country. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

From 6 p.m. on Wednesday (August 26) for the following 24 hours, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in many places of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and in some places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions. Moderate to heavy rainfall may also occur at some places across the country. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

The agency also said that the tendency for rainfall may continue across the country for the next five days.
