Former JU professor Subhas Chandra Das passes away

CNI Desk: Retired professor of Geography and Environment department at Jahangirnagar University Professor Dr. Subhas Chandra Das passed away at Enam Medical College and Hospital in Savar on Sunday morning. He was 70.

Professor Subhas Chandra Das retired from Geography and Environment department of Jahangirnagar University on June 29, 2017.

JU Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Farzana Islam expressed profound shock at his death.

In a condolence message, the VC said, “With the death of professor Subhas, the nation lost a prominent geographer. He was a role model to the students and teachers for his dedication to teaching and research.”

“He would be remembered for his outstanding research activities in the field of geography and marine research” she added.

Dr. Farzana prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
