International desk: 9 people including children were killed in the Russian missile attack in Ukraine. Nine people, including five children, were killed and 29 injured when a Russian ballistic missile hit an apartment building in the city of Krivi Rih, the country's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said. Al Jazeera news.

Several pictures posted by the emergency department showed rescuers working at the scene. The injured have been rescued from the spot.  After the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, "Every day and every hour, Russian terrorists are proving that Ukraine and its partners should strengthen their air defense systems." Zelensky was born in the city of Kryvyi Rih in southern Ukraine.

He posted video footage from the scene. Rescue workers were seen working to rescue survivors from the rubble. He again appealed to Ukraine's allies to provide sophisticated air defense systems to counter Russian airstrikes.  Meanwhile, two US officials said on Tuesday that the US has agreed to send another Patriot missile system.

Aid to Ukraine will dominate the annual Group of Seven (G7) summit in Italy on Thursday. Modern air defense systems can provide the greatest protection for the common people, our cities and our locations, Zelensky said. We need them as soon as possible.  In February 2022, Russia launched a surprise attack on Ukraine.

The conflict has been going on since then. Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the city of Krivy Rih had about 635,000 people. The city has been under constant attacks since the start of the conflict.
