International Desk: At least 38 migrants have lost their lives in a boat sinking in the West Asian country of Yemen. Besides, 100 passengers are missing.
The incident happened on Monday local time. News from Reuters. Hadi al-Khurma, director of Yemen's Rudum district, told Reuters the boat was traveling from the Horn of Africa to the Yemeni port city of Aden.
The boat capsized before reaching the shores of Shabwa Governorate, east of Aden. Locals said, rescue work is going on to find the missing people. The Horn of Africa comprises the internationally recognized countries of Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia. According to UN data, 97,000 migrants from the Horn of Africa arrived in Yemen last year.
