International Desk: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Narendra Modi, who is preparing to become the country's prime minister for the third time in a row.

He also hoped that this victory of Modi and his party BJP will take India-Israel friendship to another height.  In a post on social media X on Wednesday, Netanyahu said, "(Indian) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has won the election for the third time in a row.

I extend my warmest congratulations to him from the bottom of my heart and hope that Israel's relationship with India will reach new heights during his new tenure. Badhai ho (congratulations)! Recently, the 18th Lok Sabha elections were held in India.

Voting for this election was held in 28 states and 8 Union Territories of India in seven phases over 44 days from April 19 to May 31. The Election Commission announced the results of that election on Tuesday.

According to the results, out of 543 Lok Sabha seats, the BJP has won 240 seats in this election alone, and 50 more seats in alliance. In other words, the BJP and its NDA-led coalition won a total of 293 seats, which is a sufficient number of seats to form a government as per the Constitution of India.  In this election, Modi stood as a candidate in Varanasi, which is known as the temple city of India.

He also won. He was a candidate in this one seat.  Narendra Modi, who emerged from the western Indian state of Gujarat, used to be an election candidate in his state until 2014. In the 2014 election, he contested for the first time from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and won. Later he won the 2019 election with a huge margin.
