International Desk: The separatists have attacked an army base named Doda in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, there was an incident of firing between them and the security forces.
Six people including five soldiers were injured. Indian media NDTV reported that this incident took place on Tuesday (June 11) night. The firing is still going on till the last news.
In a statement, the police said, "Joint army and police checkpoints are fighting separatists at Chattargola and Doda." This is the third incident in Jammu in three days after terrorists opened fire in Kathua, injuring a civilian and killing 9 passengers in a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi.
Meanwhile, Anand Jain, additional director general of Jammu zone overseeing anti-terror operations, said that a terrorist was also killed in an encounter in Kathua last night. Regarding the Doda incident, he said terrorists opened fire on a joint team of police and Rashtriya Rifles at an army base in Chhattargala area late at night.
Clashes continue between security forces and separatists. Jammu Police said two terrorists were involved in the Kathua attack on Tuesday evening and one of them was killed. Security forces are using drones to search for the second person in Kathua's Hiranagar area.
